Reports state that the Serie A club Salernitana will be kicked out from the tournament if fail to find a new owner by the end of this year, i.e., on December 31, 2021. Gabriele Gravina, the president of the Italian Football Federation, confirmed this on Tuesday.
The Serie B club Salerno was promoted by the conducting authority for the first time in 23 years in the last campaign, however, Claudio Lotito the owner of the team already had another team owned in the Serie A, i.e., Lazio.
The league rules state that ownership of multiple teams in the same division is not allowed, and the control of the club was handed to trust with the motive of finding a new buyer. However, Salernitana hasn’t succeeded yet to find a suitable owner for them with only a few days left in hand.

Gabriele Gravina said more in this regard that there won’t be any let-offs when it comes to the end of the year, i.e., on December 31, 2021, the president states after their FIGC Council meeting. If they don’t see any developments by the last day of the year, Salernitana is out of the league.
The top tier of the Italian league football system, Serie A, requested the Italian football federation that to keep Salernitana inside the league until the end of the present campaign. And in the meantime, they tried to find a buyer however, consequently failed to receive suitable offers.

At present, Salernitana is at the bottom of the league points table securing 8 points from 18 games. They didn’t travel for their last game on Tuesday against Udinese, concerning the Local Health Authority banned them from travelling due to COVID19 cases positive in the squad.
