Fortnite players were met with a short pause in gameplay early today as Epic Games carried out scheduled maintenance for the v34.30 update. The servers went offline around 4:00 AM ET and resumed operations by 6:30 AM ET, following the developer’s usual downtime pattern for major content drops.
Fortnite v34.30 Adds Sabrina Carpenter to Festival, New Skins, Modes, and Adventure Time Tease
Headlining this update is the debut of pop star Sabrina Carpenter in Fortnite Festival’s eighth season. As the latest Festival ICON, the actress enters the rhythm-based mode with her music and in-game cosmetics taking the centre stage. The entertainment resource for this mode has a diversified library among which the players can find her famous singles like Espresso and Please Please Please that they can perform and the most anticipated songs like Feather and Nonsense are back. Her fans are now able to choose one from the two character skins representing her: a Music Pass for 1,400 V-Bucks, and the other one is from the Item Shop.
Furthermore, the patch has brought out the theme pack of cosmetic items like a red heart microphone, lipstick-kiss guitar back bling, animated emotes, and so on that are all made in the image of Carpenter’s upbeat style. Besides the music content, the update adds some exciting features to the game’s main modes. Ballistic Mode, for example, gets a huge revamp with the addition of a new map named Hammer Fall and a full-ranked reset to make the entire game more fair. Additionally, players can enjoy a recent discovery of a collaboration with the Adventure Time brand.
This information came about when a multitude of sources verified the addition of skins to the game, as Finn, Jake, Marceline and Princess Bubblegum have been seen as some of the leaked characters. The introduction of multiple new weapons extends the scope of fun and gameplay, as the players can now also try out the Hop Rock SMG, Gilded Eye Drum Gun, the SMG-Dynamite combo, and more.
Furthermore, Epic has also eliminated several drawbacks in Save the World and LEGO Fortnite modes, which ensured a smooth gaming experience for all the players regardless of the devices they used. The next update, v34.40, is set for April 22, while Chapter 6 Season 3 is expected to kick off with v35.00 on May 2, possibly featuring a large-scale Star Wars crossover.
