Rajasthan Royals have defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Qualifier 2, to book their ticket for the 2022 TATA IPL finals, where they will lock horns against Gujarat Titans, on Sunday. It was a dominating victory registered by RR against RCB, where the latter batted first and put up 157 on the scoreboard losing 8 wickets, and the RR chased down the target successfully by 18.1 overs. Here are three factors that helped RR to secure the win with ease.
Brilliant bowling by RR
The RR bowlers were indeed on fire during bowling, though their star bowler, Chahal, didn’t pick any wickets in this match, others did, with Prasidh Krishna and Obed McCoy picking up 3 each. Also, Trent Boult and Ashwin picked up 1 each, and all of them with their joint efforts restricted RCB within 157.
Getting rid of Rajat Patidar
Rajat Patidar who scored a century against LSG at the eliminator, also played well in qualifier 2, scoring 58 of 42, with 4 fours and 3 sixes. He, along with Glenn Maxwell was taking RCB to a good position, but Trent Boult got rid of Maxwell on 24, and soon Ashwin also dismissed Patidar. Else a bigger score would certainly be easier for RCB to defend on a big ground like Narendra Modi Stadium.
Joss the Boss registers his fourth hundred of the season
Joss Buttler who has been the orange cap holder and the significant reason behind RR going to reaching the playoffs scored his fourth century of the season, touching the record of Virat Kohli, who did it back in 2016. Buttler took RR above the victory line with ease, single-handedly, with his 60 balls 106 innings with 10 fours and 6 sixes, and no other batsman had to score above the 25-run mark, the next highest being Sanju Samson’s 23 of 21.
