Rajasthan Royals emerged victoriously over Kolkata Knight Riders in an epic battle which is probably the best match of the season till now. Twists after twists continued to take place, and at one time, RR gained control, and the next time KKR fought back. However, after all the twists and turns, it was Rajasthan Royals who ultimately laughed the last laugh. They batted first and put up a mammoth score of 217 for the loss of 5 wickets. KKR lost the match by 7 runs, who got all out in 210. Here are 3 facts to consider from the match.
Jos Buttler’s second century of the season comes against KKR
The Orange Cap holder Jos Buttler has indeed been in phenomenal form in this season, registering his second century of the present campaign in the match against KKR. He scored 103 of 61 balls with 9 fours and 5 sixes with a strike rate of 168.85, which led RR to register such a big total.
Yuzvendra Chahal’s 5 wicket haul and a hat-trick for RR
Yuzvendra Chahal has been always effective in his bowling, especially when his team was in search of wickets. He not only had a five-wicket haul but also did a hattrick, completely demolishing the KKR middle order. Also, he was in a hattrick chance too after he picked up his first two wickets. KKR was very much in the game, but after getting Shreyas Iyer, who scored 85 of 51, RR got control of the match, Though Mesh Yadav played a brilliant cameo of 21 of 9 balls, and KKR fans hoped for a win, but Obed McCoy got rid of him in the last over.
KKR middle order failing
One of the prime factors behind KKR not being able to win the match was their failing middle order. After Finch got out at 58 of 28, and skipper Shreyas Iyer was fighting, no one could stand with him for long, KKR’s middle and lower-middle order completely failed, which led the knights to face the defeat.
