Royal Enfield, one of the most famous motorcycle brands in the world is gearing up to expand its portfolio soon and will be offered across 350cc, 450cc, and 650cc segments to attract a broader audience. The 650cc range, in particular, is seeing considerable activity, with Royal Enfield now officially teasing its new model, the Bear 650. So, the dive should begin with what is about to come up with this model.
The Upcoming Royal Enfield Bear 650
When early images of Royal Enfield’s 650cc scrambler surfaced online, it stirred excitement among motorcycle enthusiasts worldwide. This fresh Bear 650 enhances the enticing nature of the Interceptor 650 with a lighter, dirt-ready form and multiple tweaks in terms of features and parts. The classic design and simplicity of the Interceptor 650 have been appreciated from time. It seems like a new, more rugged, and perhaps slightly adventurous version from Royal Enfield. Previously thought to be called the Scram 650, with trademarks showing “Interceptor Bear 650,” Royal Enfield is apparently going with Bear 650 – following its animal name trend.
In terms of design, the Bear 650 retains the Interceptor its simple visual appeal but adds new aspects such as golden USD telescopic front forks—this is a first for this platform. Duality remains at the rear too with the twin-shock arrangement seen so far but we can expect the Himalayan 650 to get a mono-shock for its rear wheel and it will be probably the first of many such models in the 650cc range stand-up from the Vulcan location.
The Bear 650 will be available in single and dual-tone color options, with a single exhaust for lighter weight. This also gets the Royal Enfield 5-inch Tripper Dash with Google Maps and music controls. Look for the Bear 650 in May, and check out a teaser below with narration by legendary racer Eddie Mulder as it weaves through different scenes above. The Bear 650 is powered by a parallel-twin, oil-cooled engine that displaces 648cc and produces 47 bhp in addition to making a peak torque of about 52 Nm with a six-speed gearbox. With a deep, American V-Twin-like exhaust note, the Bear 650 promises a thrilling ride. Launch details are expected in 2025.
