The Uruguayan international Ronald Araujo seemed to have been taken away in an ambulance, having suffered a serious blow to the head, causing a concussion. The 23-year-old slammed into team-mate Gavi right after the hour-mark. Soon after he was rushed to the hospital to receive treatment. However, the recent update posted by Manager Xavi reassures the mass.
After last night’s game against the Celta Vigo, the Barcelona defender suffered a pretty serious head injury, but Manager Xavi assures us that the player is now out of danger.
Xavi and The Doctors on Barcelona Defender Ronald Araujo’s Condition
Xavi urges that the 23-year-old be taken and kept in the hospital solely as a precautionary measure. Xavi briefed us on Ronald Araujo’s condition and mentioned that the doctors informed us that the defender is conscious and that he and his players need not be worried.
As reported by BBC sport, Xavi stated, “The doctor has told us he is conscious. He will spend the night in the hospital but he is out of danger.
“The doctor said we shouldn’t worry, that Ronald Araujo will spend the night in hospital as a precaution, nothing more.”
About Tuesday Night’s Game Highlights
Barca won the match against Celta by a 3-1 scoreline, but that’s all thanks to Memphis Depay and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for scoring those goals. However, the players must have been far more concerned about their teammates’ well-being than the results of the game.
Having played 42 matches in all competitions and scoring four goals as the center-back, Araujo has been the leading player for Barcelona this season.
Based on the reports stated by the BBC, it seems that in the previous month, the South American has penned a new contract at the Nou Camp.
