Redmi has announced the launch date, for their earbuds called Redmi Buds 5 in India. The company took to its social media platforms to share that the device is set to be released in the country next week. In addition to this news, Redmi also revealed some specifications of the Redmi Buds 5.
It will come with support for noise cancellation (ANC) of up to 46dB and will be equipped with 12.4mm drivers. Interestingly these new earbuds are scheduled to make their debut a month after the release of the Redmi Note 13 5G series in India.
The Upcoming Redmi Buds 5
The Chinese smartphone manufacturer teased these earbuds through a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) announcing that they will officially hit the market on February 12. Further details about the Redmi Buds 5 were shared on a landing page hosted on the Redmi’s website. These stereo (TWS) earphones are expected to feature dynamic drivers measuring 12.4mm while the Hybrid ANC is said to effectively eliminate background noise starting from as low as 46dB.
Based on promotional images it appears that these earbuds bear a striking resemblance to the Redmi Buds 4 Active; however, there seems to be a distinct design change, in their case which resembles that of the OnePlus Buds Pro 2. Speculations suggest that color options may include black and white. Furthermore there’s a tip, from Ishan Agarwal suggesting that the Redmi Buds 5 might come with three transparency options. While Redmi hasn’t officially confirmed the availability of these modes they did mention that the TWS earphones will provide users with sound modes.
Furthermore, the Redmi Buds 5 is anticipated to support dual-device pairing and may also integrate Google Fast Pair for expedited connections with paired devices, as per the tipster. Notably, the company has indicated that the TWS earphones will feature dual microphones and an AI call enhancement feature to enhance call clarity.
While specific details regarding the battery life of the earbuds were not provided by the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, it asserted that the case will provide users with up to 38 hours of playtime. Leaks suggest that the earbuds themselves may offer up to 10 hours of playback.
