Take-Two CEO refrains from giving any comments on the future of reading Red Dead Online

Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, recently acknowledged the grievances of many Red Dead Online gamers but refrained from promising any significant changes. Red Dead Online has gone over a year without a big update, forcing many in the game’s fan base to prod the creators for additional content.

The information comes from a recent IGN interview. “Rockstar Games talks about the updates that are coming and we’re working on an awful lot at Rockstar Games,” Zelnick remarked. “I’ve heard the frustration. It’s flattering that they want more content and more will be said by Rockstar in due time.” Take-Two then emphasized that Zelnick was “exclusively referring to the game’s online servers,” and that any information regarding new features will come straight from Rockstar. A substantial update is not in the works, according to the corporation.

Blood Money, the game’s most recent major update, was released in July 2021. This included some robberies, cosmetics, and battle passes. While this update was substantial in size, Red Dead Online has been chastised for its lack of content, with Rockstar Games only providing sporadic support. Of course, this pales in comparison to another game from the same studio, Grand Theft Auto Online, which has been receiving big updates since its October 2013 release.

Take-Two and Rockstar are both going to support Red Dead Online in the future, according to Zelnick. The executive, on the other hand, did not indicate when a substantial update would be released. In addition, Zelnick said nothing about what fresh content will be added to the game.

Meanwhile, the Red Dead Online community is left in the dark about the game’s future. While some people are relieved to see that Take-Two and Rockstar will continue to support the game, others are dissatisfied with the absence of a defined development schedule. The most pessimistic among them fear that Red Dead Online will be discontinued.
