The BCCI on January 25 2023 revealed all the names of the successful bidders for WPL 2023. Among the IPL franchises, RCB, MI, and Delhi Capitals have bought teams. Among the new entrants, there are Adani Group and Capri Global. Royal Challengers Bangalore bought the Bengaluru franchise for rs 901 crores and even revealed their logo.
RCB’s bid was the third highest of all, the highest bid was from the Adani group. They bought the Ahmedabad franchise for Rs. 1,289 crores.
They kept a red and gold colour with a pictogram of the female gender sign in their logo. “Breaking barriers, making history, and playing bold! Royal Challengers Bangalore are the proud owners of the Bengaluru Women’s Premier League Team,” the franchise tweeted

Former RCB’s skipper Virat Kohli expressed his excitement as Royal Challengers Bangalore won the bid. “Well played, RCB! So thrilled that my team has won the bid for the Bengaluru Women’s Premier League team. Can’t wait to cheer for our women in Red and Gold” Kohli tweeted.
The BCCI announced the successful bidders of WPL as the companies earned the ownership rights for a total bid valuation of INR 4669.99 crores. Adani Sportsline Pvt. Ltd, India win Sports Pvt. Ltd, JSW GMR Cricket Pvt. Ltd and Capri Global Holdings Pvt. Ltd. won the bids for franchise ownership.
Viacom18 Private Limited has bagged media rights for the first five years for Rs 951 crores.
“Today is a historic day in cricket as the bidding for teams of inaugural #WPL broke the records of the inaugural Men’s IPL in 2008! Congratulations to the winners as we garnered Rs. 4669.99 Cr in total bid” BCCI secretary Jay Shah wrote on Twitter.
He further confirmed that the player auction will take place on the first week of February 2023. The auction’s purse will be Rs 12 crore per franchise.
