The Razer Kishi V2, a follow-up to one of the greatest Android controllers we’ve seen before, has been unveiled by Razer. After two years of development, the Kishi V2 is finally here, with a revised design that improves smartphone compatibility while also adding a slew of fascinating new functions.
The Razer Kishi V2 has a telescopic bridge that stretches to suit most Android devices on the market, and the bridge itself does not wobble, just like the original Kishi. It does have a wider footprint this time, so phones like the Galaxy S22 Ultra may easily fit within. Users can also remove the supplied rubber inserts if they want to use huge phones with a case, according to Razer. This easily qualifies the Kishi V2 as Razer’s greatest Android gaming controller, at least in terms of compatibility.
Aside from that, the Razer Kishi V2 offers some enhancements on other fronts. The Razer Kishi V2, for example, is equipped with the same microswitch buttons and d-pad technology as Razer’s award-winning Wolverine V2 console controller. This means that consumers would benefit from a variety of features such as actuation, responsiveness, comfort, and tactile feedback.
The Razer Kishi V2 also has two customizable multifunction buttons next to the triggers that may be used to mimic other buttons on the controller for a better gaming experience. Furthermore, the Razer Kishi V2 features improved ergonomics with textured hand grips, improved button placement, and new materials that will provide gamers with a better gaming experience.
As far as the software is concerned, Razer has integrated the Kishi V2 with the Razer Nexus app and that should provide a “more cohesive and powerful experience.” The Razer Nexus app offers an “in-depth catalog to help players discover Android games with controller support. It also includes advanced customization functionality for the Kishi V2 controller, including remapping the multifunction buttons and updating the firmware.”
Last but not least, the Razer Nexus app includes built-in live broadcasting to Facebook and YouTube, as well as the ability to record movies and photos of games. The Google Play Store will have the app available for download.
Starting today, the new Razer Kishi V2 will be available for $99.99 on Razer’s website and other retailers. It’s worth mentioning that the Kishi V2 isn’t compatible with iPhones, but the firm says it’ll release one with a Lightning connector soon, though no specific date has been given.
