The 28-year-old Argentine forward Paulo Dybala is set to join the Italian Serie A club AS Roma. Here we are talking about the reason for his joining this club.
Paulo Dybala ready to join AS Roma
Dybala is currently in Faro, Portugal with the Roma team where he is clearing his medical tests for the club. The free agent Argentine is likely to sign a three-year contract for I Giallorossi with a salary of six million euros per year.
Dybala signed for the Italian Serie A club Juventus in 2015 summer. He served the Old Lady for seven consecutive seasons, where the 2019/20 Serie A Most Valuable Player managed 115 goals and 48 assists in 293 games. He officially left the club this summer after completing that contract.
Talking about his next club journey, Dybala previously clarified that he wanted to continue his club football career in Italy. But Roma still became the unexpected answer for Dybala in many minds.
Jose Mourinho influence
In the last season, Roma won the inaugural UEFA Europa Conference League, their first UEFA trophy. Jose Mourinho created that history in his first year out of a three-year contract with the club, who finished the last Serie A season in the sixth spot.
Mourinho reportedly called Dybala constantly to join the club. The Portuguese reportedly influenced the Argentine footballer to choose I Giallorossi.
Low buyout clause
Regular UEFA Champions League player Dybala is set to play the UEFA Europa League in the upcoming season. So, there is no doubt Dybala has a low buyout clause of around 20 million euros. Due to the low buyout clause, the Argentine can easily find an alternative club next summer if he wants to move to any other club.
