Pakistsan started the tournament well however in the middle they faced multiple defeats which has almost blocked their equations to the semi finals. However they broke their loosing streak with a dominating win over Bangladesh by 7 wickets at the iconic Eden Gardens. Pakistan brought this win in chasing cause and were much efficient in the run chase and the batsmen took their nation above the victory line with ease.

Pakistan beating Bangladesh by 7 wickets

Bangladesh batted first and got all out at 204 only. Though some of the Bangladeshi batters batted decently in the likes of Mahmadullah who scored a half century and also Liton Das, and Shakib but it wasn’t enough to take the team to a fighting total and also credit goes to the Pakistan bowlers who limited Bangladesh within a chasable total.

The pitch of Eden Gardens isn’t even a bowling pitch which highly got reflected when Pakistan came to bat. Their openers Abdullah Shafique and Fakhar Zaman who made his return played brilliantly scoring 68 and 81 respectively. Fakhar Zaman who made his return played exceptionally well and hit 7 huge sixes. Pakistan eventually won the match with ease, and Fakhar Zaman got the player of the match award in his return.

    Tough equation for Pakistan

Pakistan has very little chances to qualify for the knockout stage concerning the defeats they faced. Though they seemed to have regained their form back but still the equation for the semis is very hard. From now, they have to win all their remaining matches at a magnificent run rate and the top performers including India South Africa and New Zealand have to face defeat in their remaining matches at a good run rate.

However this thing is pretty impossible considering the form the top performers are in. Especially the host of this World Cup, India has been in phenomenal form and they are still unbeaten at this tournament, and South Africa and New Zealand on the other hand, are also looking great. However still anything can happen in the game of cricket and Pakistan can qualify for the semis this happens more or less.

As mentioned the top performers of this World Cup has been the host India, and New Zealand and South Africa. They have been brilliant in terms of both batting and bowling and they have almost qualified for the knockouts. The team who will occupy another place for the semis and it is to been seen who emerges as another semi finalist. Australia has maximum chances to set themselves for the position considering the form they has been in, and other contenders include Sri Lanka and Afghanistan.
