Overwatch 2 is set for an exciting crossover with Capcom’s Street Fighter 6, as Blizzard revealed the collaboration at EVO Japan. The animated trailer introduces Juno, dressed as Chun-Li, going head-to-head with Widowmaker, who is wearing Cammy’s outfit. The struggle heats up and becomes more like a street fight when Hanzo comes to fight in Ryu’s familiar costume with a Hadoken, taking this fight from a one-on-one to a “one for all” street fight.

This crossover will kick off on May 20 and will add a total of eight character skins, which is much more than previous collabs like the ones with Gundam Wing or Avatar: The Last Airbender. The Overwatch 2 heroes getting the Street Fighter affair are Hanzo as Ryu, Juno as Chun-Li, Kiriko as Juri, Widowmaker as Cammy, Zenyatta as Dhalsim, Soldier: 76 as Guile, Winston as Blanka, and Sigma as M. Bison.
Each skin can be seen in the animated promo, and Blizzard has kept to the spirit of Capcom’s classic fighting game. Given Hanzo is of Japanese descent, his matching up with Ryu is fitting, Sigma as M. Bison, and Zenyatta as Dhalsim are good shout choices that honour the characters’ aesthetics. Blizzard hasn’t announced how much the new skin will cost or what else will come with the event.
But the trailer also suggests that Hanzo almost surely will do some Street Fighter, complete with the Hadoken, Shoryuken, and Tatsumaki Senpu-kyaku. Fans will need to wait for additional details. Along with this crossover, Overwatch 2 recently launched Season 16, which introduced a new damage hero named Freya and a new third-person Stadium mode. On the other side, Street Fighter 6 will welcome a new fighter, Elena, on June 5.
