Sergio Aguero has decided to hang up his boots from the professional football world. The great Argentine hung up his boots after he faced cardiac arrhythmia on October 30 during a match he was playing for Barcelona.
The 33-year-old striker, represented Atletico Madrid, Independiente, along with Manchester City, before joining Barcelona FC this summer. He played a total of 666 club matches, where he has registered 379 goals and performed 146 assists. Sergio Aguero represented his country in 101 matches where he netted 41 goals with 19 assists.

Sergio Aguero said regarding his retirement in a press conference on Wednesday at Camp Nou that this announcement is to let everyone know that he has decided to stop playing in professional football. It was indeed a very hard decision to make, Aguero added with tears.
He reasoned his health for his retirement, as everyone knows about it that happened to him last month. He was treated well by the doctors. They told the Argentine that the best thing to do was to stop playing and he took this decision a week before or 10 days ago.
For Barcelona
Initially, Sergio Aguero joined Barcelona with the desire to play alongside his national teammate Lionel Messi, however, Messi went to PSG, and Aguero was also ruled out due to an injury and was not able to play till October 17. Since then, Aguero played only five matches for Barcelona, before suffering from a heart issue against Alaves.
He said that it has been incredible in Barcelona as he knew that he was coming to the best clubs in the world however, things certainly happen for a specific reason. He also mentioned his national team – Argentina, and said is the one he loves the most.
