ASUS and Manli brings out NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 GPUs but with Reduced Memory

Graphics cards in the GeForce RTX 30 series are now gradually receiving updates from NVIDIA. According to recent reports, one of NVIDIA’s major partners, ASUS, has released a new edition of the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti featuring faster GDDR6X memory (the original model uses GDDR6). Today, a few vendors unveiled an updated GeForce RTX 3060. However, there has been a decline in performance here, which defies sense.

12GB of GDDR6 memory with a 192-bit bus and 360GB/s memory bandwidth are available in the original GeForce RTX 3060. Only 8 GB of RAM with support for a 128-bit bus were included in the current version of the accelerator, which was previously unveiled by businesses like Manli and ASUS. As a result, the storage subsystem’s bandwidth was decreased to 240 GB/s.

Other than having 12 GB of memory, Manli and ASUS cards mimic the features of their predecessors. Both are built on 8nm GA106-300 GPUs, which have 48 ROP units, 112 texture units, and 3584 CUDA cores.

The GeForce RTX 3060’s reference GPU frequencies, according to Manli, are between 1320 and 1777 MHz.

Two cards have been released by ASUS in the dual variant. The other is factory overclocked to 1837 MHz, while the first uses the reference GPU frequency of 1777 MHz. Both GPUs simultaneously support the conventional and overclocked BIOS modes. The graphics processors of the accelerators’ maximum reported frequency are raised to 1807 MHz and 1867 MHz, respectively, in the second scenario.

The new models employ identical cooling mechanisms as the original GeForce RTX 3060 variants. They each have two fans inside and are two expansion slots thick. Curiously, neither the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti with GDDR6X memory nor the GeForce RTX 3060 with 8GB of GDDR6 memory have been formally released by NVIDIA.
