Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 1 Brings PC Optimizations & New Endgame Content

Game Director Yuya Tokuda has taken to the game’s official website to share what Title Update 1 will bring when it releases later this week. The update, among other optimizations, will set the stage for new endgame content, which will come to the game towards the end of May. New content includes the addition of Tempered Monsters (★8), which include the likes of Gore Magala and a bunch of apex predators: Rey Dau, Uth Duna, Nu Udra, and Jin Dahaad.

The enemies of these campaigns will be stronger and tougher than ever before, with extra health and wounding immunity. The update will also bring weapon and mantle balance adjustments, more quality-of-life improvements, and various tune-ups to polish gameplay. The major update for PC players is improved memory utilization courtesy of VRAM reduction and an upgrade to the latest DirectStorage as well. These upgrades should improve stability so the game runs more smoothly on a wider range of systems.

The development team is also hard at work hunting down and fixing stability issues, so you can expect future updates to keep improving the PC experience. Beyond Title Update 1, Tokuda also teased more gameplay improvements. Among these changes is the introduction of Layered Weapons, allowing players to customize the appearance of their gear without sacrificing stats.

This is an exciting addition, as some of the most powerful weapons, such as the Artian series, lack the aesthetic appeal of other designs. Monster Hunter Wilds is available now on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S, with more updates planned to further enhance the game in the coming months.
