Amidst the sadness of the loss, Mohammad Rizwan equaled Babar Azam’s record for the fastest 2000 runs. He smashed a half-century that helped him reach the milestone of 2000 runs in T20Is for Pakistan.
Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam had a great start shifting away from the crisis of the Asia Cup. Pakistani skipper Babar Azam got dismissed after a scratchy inning but Rizwan had a good game. He mustered a total of 68 runs and completed his 2000 run in this format too.
He left Virat Kohli(56), KL Rahul(58), and Aaron Finch(62) behind to reach the top. Mohammad Rizwan along with Babar Azam reached the 2000 run mark at the fastest, in just 52 innings. Last year, Babar achieved the feat against Zimbabwe.
Rizwan was also the highest run scorer of this edition’s Asia Cup and in T20Is last year with 1326 runs in 29 matches.
