Minecraft has already sold over 300 million copies, making it the best-selling video game of all time, according to Microsoft. This is an increase from 238 million in 2021. Tetris, which has sold over 500 million copies, may have something to say about Microsoft’s claim that Minecraft is the best-selling game. However, 300 million copies of Minecraft have been sold.
To commemorate the premiere of the new TV series Planet Earth III this fall, Minecraft Education is collaborating with the BBC on DLC for the Minecraft Marketplace in 2024. The firms previously collaborated on the Minecraft DLC Frozen Planet II. The message of Minecraft’s New Earth Earth DLC is that we are all connected and must work together to protect the earth.
Star Wars: Path of the Jedi DLC coming to Minecraft
The Star Wars: Path of the Jedi DLC will be available on the Minecraft Marketplace on November 7. During the event, a trailer was unveiled that highlighted lightsaber combat and Force powers. Some well-known Star Wars characters will also appear in the DLC.
Craig Leigh, Minecraft Legends’ main design director, demonstrated some of the game’s community-requested changes during Minecraft Live. In addition, the next Lost Legend for Legends, “Creeper Clash,” will be released on October 19 in time for Halloween. Another, “Snow vs. Snout,” will be released in December.
Minecraft will celebrate its 15th anniversary in 2024, and Mojang’s Lydia Winters has announced “exciting” plans to commemorate the milestone.
In mid-2024, the original Minecraft will get a lot of new features, including “The Crafter.” This enables players to perform automatic crafting, a first for vanilla Minecraft. Trial chambers, which are procedurally constructed underground buildings for players to tackle, and light-emitting blocks called Copper Bulbs are also new for Minecraft Vanilla in 2024. Furthermore, “The Breeze,” the game’s newest hostile mob, is being added to Minecraft vanilla.
