Recent reports suggest the Central Bank of the Republic of Argentina is willing to mark the nation’s sensational victory in the Qatar World Cup 2022 and have been thinking of ideas for a long time now.
Argentina defeated France in a stunning game of nerves. After the game ended 3-3 after extra time, it was moved to a penalty shootout where Messi’s team defeated the defending champions 4-2.
Central Bank willing to put Messi’s face on a 1000 peso banknote
Messi has been outstanding in helping his team return home with flying colors, himself being the winner of the Golden boot. The Central Bank desires to put his face on a 1000 peso banknote.
Mockups of the same have started going viral, with fans all across the globe can’t hold their excitement to see the real one.
Reports suggest a major reason behind this idea of putting his face on a 1000 peso note is it starts with ’10’, Messi’s jersey number. One side of the note is supposed to have Messi’s grinning face, while the proposed text for the other side is ‘La Scaloneta,’ the group’s nickname.
The term has been connected to the team since 2018, after Lionel Scaloni’s succession to Jorge Sampaoli.
Under Scaloni’s regime, Argentina lifted the Copa America 2021 and the FIFA World Cup 2022.
First venture of crossing currency with the national side
If everything goes fine and ultimately, this idea is successful, it would be the first venture of crossing currency with the national side. Previously, when Argentina won the 1978 World Cup, they had issued commemorative coins. These coins were also issued on the 50th death anniversary of Eva Perón, the former first lady of Argentina.
At present, Messi is having a relaxing time in his home in Rosario, where thousands of fans gathered after his return on Tuesday.
