Coco Gauff, who bagged the women’s US Open title in 2023 is still too young to drink or hold the right to vote in the USA. At such a young age, she is already the richest woman athlete on the globe.
She created history to win the US Open as the first American teenager since Serena Williams did it in 1999.
Coco Gauff and her million dollars deal is what makes her richest female athlete in the world
The 19-year-old earned quite the payday over the weekend as she defeated Belarus’ Arena Sabalenka to seal the US Open title.
With that victory, Coco Gauf took home a prize money of $3 million. That number upgraded her season earnings to $5.5 million and her career earnings to $11.1 million.
Even if she had lost the title, her bank account would be glowing, because of her growing numbers of endorsement deals.
Let’s have a look at the brands she has endorsement deals with. During the US Open, Coco Gauf was seen sporting her maroon New Balance outfit with Bose headphones and a Head racket. These are the sponsors who shared the spotlight with the US Open champion.
Other names linked to the youngster are Barilla, UPS and Baker Tilly. Before Gauff’s endorsement earnings were revealed for 2023, Forbes reported she earned a whopping $8 million last year.
Besides bagging the huge endorsement deals, Coco Gauf has also shown she isn’t afraid to open up on matters that interest her.
Seeking motivation from negative comments
Gauff said that she draws motivation from social media before the final showdown with Sabalenka. She even said that she agreed with protestors who interrupted her semis for 50 minutes as they were interested in bringing attention to climate change.
Gauff also spoke about the gun violence in the United States, before last year’s French Open.
Speaking about what she likes to do with her money, Gauff said,
“I don’t like to spend money. When I had my first Grand Slam check, I wanted a car but my dad had already bought it and I don’t know what to buy now. My brother always wanted a Bugatti. I told him you better make it big if you want a Bugatti.”
During her live stream on Instagram, a fan asked her, what she plans to do with her prize money like paying off any student debt or other loans, to which she light-heartedly replied,
“I’m too young. My parents never put me in a position to be in debt, so I have nothing to pay right now.”
The youngster, as talented as this, is sure to achieve bigger feats in her career in the upcoming days!
