    Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) superstar Kylian Mbappe will become the world’s highest-paid footballer in 2022. Mbappe has overtaken Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as long-time leaders.

    Kylian Mbappe’s landmark deal with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) paves the way for the French player to end Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi’s long hold at the top of football’s richest list rice field. 

    The PSG star will be the world’s highest-paid footballer in 2022. His two of the greatest players in the beautiful game’s history, Ballon d’Or’s biggest rivals Messi and Ronaldo, dominated football’s rich list for eight years.

    His teammate Messi and Manchester United icon Ronaldo are expected to earn at least $100 million in the 2022-2023 season. But Ronaldo and Messi remain behind French striker Mbappe on the elite list of the world’s highest-paid footballers. 

    Ronaldo and Messi surpassed $100 million annual gross income in their 30s. The French footballer has surpassed Ronaldo and Messi on the list of the world’s highest-paid players at the age of 23.

    Ronaldo in third place behind Messi in football rich list

    With an estimated revenue of $120 million for the 2022-2023 season, Mbappe’s teammate Messi secured second place in the annual rankings, ahead of Ronaldo. Former Real Madrid and Juventus star Ronaldo ($100 million) is his third, while PSG star Neymar ($87 million) is his fourth in the annual rankings.

    Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah ($53 million) follows Neymar, but he ranks fifth on the list of the world’s highest-paid footballers. Manchester City goalscorer Erling his Haaland debuted in the top 10 with his $39 million expected profit this season.

    Mbappe’s way to becoming the world’s highest-paid player

    According to a report filed by Forbes, the forward will earn $128 million in the 2022/23 season. The former AS Monaco forward is set to make an incredible amount of money before taxes and agency fees.

    Mbappe mentions French striker has turned down Real Madrid earning an extension for a stay at Le Parc des Princes. When he became famous for his talent, he signed a lucrative contract with PSG. After fending off Real Madrid in the summer transfer window, Mbappe signed a three-year contract extension in May.

    He is expected to make $110 million in combined salary and signing bonuses at PSG this season. The report added that Mbappe attracts $18 million in endorsements annually. 

    The Frenchman is the face of famous brands such as Nike, Dior, Hublot, Oakley, and Panini. Superstar Mbappe will be on the cover of his FIFA video game on EA Sports in 2022 for the third time in his career.
