NetEase Games confirmed they are set to release as part of a major update in the latter half of Season 1, although details about the “Season 1.5” update thus far have been kept under wraps. The Thing and Human Torch join Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman, which debuted as the first post-launch heroes of Season 1 last month. Reed Richards stretched his way into battle, and Sue Storm used her invisibility in new ways. Fans can’t wait to find out the game mechanics implications for Ben Grimm’s brute force and Johnny Storm’s flaming powers when they arrive in only a matter of weeks. NetEase hasn’t revealed their gameplay yet either, but expectations are high on whatever they will add to the roster.
And there are also some huge changes coming to Ranked mode in the next update. On February 21, every Ranked player in the game will be rolled back four divisions—so a Diamond I player will reset to Platinum II. It went on to explain that this would be a regular version adjustment, where a full-season update would drop you six divisions and a half-season update goes four divisions. The studio also promised players that they are open to tweaking these changes depending on player feedback.
To keep things engaging, NetEase is rolling out new Ranked rewards. Players in the Gold rank can look forward to new costume rewards, while top-tier competitors in Grandmaster, Celestial, Eternity, and One Above All (the top 500) will receive exclusive Crests of Honor.
With Marvel Rivals committed to post-launch expansions, The Fantastic Four is just the beginning. Creative director Guangyun Chen previously confirmed that a new hero will be introduced every half-season—approximately every six weeks—keeping the roster fresh. Leaks and rumors suggest Blade may be the next addition, but fans will have to wait for official confirmation.
