There’s Word of Marco Asensio Leaving Real Madrid This Summer; Arsenal Seems to be Interested in Him

Arsenal is the latest club to show interest in Marco Asensio, who opened the door to Real Madrid’s exit this summer. The Winger is approaching the last 12 months of his contract at Bernabeu and is discussing an extension that is currently stagnant.

As a result, Real Madrid can benefit from Marco Asensio instead of risking losing Asensio for free within a year, and Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham are all tied to his move.

According to The Mirror, Arsenal have contacted Asensio’s representatives to inquire about his requests, but Los Blancos have not yet responded.

The report adds that the absence of the Gunners from the Champions League next season is not attractive to him to move to Emirates Stadium, but that’s not a big deal. The Spaniards are also said to want a regular football guarantee.

Marco Asensio’s Decision About his Future

Marco Asensio is currently on an international mission, but is expected to make decisions about his future after the Spanish camp is over.

“I have one year left on my contract,’ the 26-year-old said earlier this week. ‘Now, I am focused on the national team.”

“When this is over, we will talk. We will see what I will do with my future. I think there are possibilities. There is also the option to stay and fulfil my contract year.”

“Rumours are part of football, and more so at Real Madrid. High-level players are always associated with it. It’s something we have to live with”, mentioned the Winger.

Asensio spent seven and a half years at the Bernabeu, winning three La Liga titles and three Champions League titles. He started just half of Real’s games last season but still contributed with 10 goals, his best for a single campaign and more than in his previous three that adds up.

The majority of Asensio’s appearances have been on the right wing, where Bukayo Saka is currently playing for Arsenal, but he is also capable of playing on the left or as a Number 10.
