Manchester United have unearthed a talented youngster in Zidane Aamar Iqbal once again, after an impressive pre-season tour with them so far. The youngster has been showcasing his talent against top teams like Liverpool, and could be integrated into the first team under Erik Ten Hag.
He is the first player from South East Asia to be included in Manchester United’s squad. He made his debut against Young Boys under Ralf Rangnick at the age of 18 years, seven months, and 11 days old.

Having a playing style similar to the icon he is named after, the youngster has acknowledged the influence of Mesut Ozil on his game too. He considers the former Germany international a huge inspiration.
“I grew up in Manchester all my life, so I would say I am a proud ‘Mancunian’. But I’m also proud of my heritage. I’m proud to be English, Pakistani and Iraqi,” he admitted.
“I feel this is the right decision for my career,” he said.
“It is a great honour to represent Iraq. My family is proud of me and I feel that playing in the World Cup qualifiers will be a step forward in my career.”
Zidane Aamar Iqbal became Manchester United’s 241st academy player to feature for the first team. He has a contract with the club until 2025, and if he can continue this form, he could be integrated into the first team under Erik Ten Hag as the season progresses.
