The newly sanctioned as well as the costliest IPL team, the Lucknow franchise has officially started operating and has been searching for its right name to be set in the upcoming edition of IPL 2022.
The Sanjiv Goenka Group-owned team has shared a picture on Twitter of Rumi Darwaza giving the official logo of Sanjiv Goenka group with the tagline stating – “Naam ke Haqdaar, Pehle Aap” and “Nam Banao, Naam Kamao”. This indicates that the Lucknow franchise management has initiated its active search for a new as well as a right name for the Lucknow team in the real Lakhnawi andaaz.
Lucknow Franchise ready to roll
The Lucknow Franchise is all set to roll in IPL 2022. The promoters of this franchise have already handled an IPL franchise before which were the Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) which played for 2 years for 2016 and 2017. The team has also announced its mentors including Gautam Gambhir as the mentor and Andy Flower as the team coach. Besides, Indian white-ball vice-captain KL Rahul is likely to be the captain of this franchise.

Sanjeev Goenka the RPSG Chief said in this regard that as a player and a coach, Andy Flower has indeed left an indelible mark in the world of cricket. They all respect his professionalism and are hoping that he will work with their vision and add much value to the team.
