Reports state that Arsenal footballer, Lucas Torrerira has agreed to join the famous Turkish side Galatasaray. The English and Turkish clubs are on finalizing terms, and it is speculated that the deal will be something around 5.5 million pounds. Torreira is indeed in need of a midfielder and signing in Lucas Torreira is expected to fulfill their needs. Lucas Torreira completed his 25 million pounds move to the Emirates 4 years back in 2018, and since then till now he has made a total of 89 appearances for the Gunners.
Lucas Torreira’s journey
Lucas Torreira spent his last two seasons on loan at top-flight European outfits Fiorentina and Atletico Madrid, however it seems like Mikel Arteta, and is all set to part his ways permanently with the Uruguayan international. Lucas Torreira was earlier recruited by the Premier League club, Arsenal, in the time of Unai Emery’s first transfer window who was in charge of the club and arrived at the Emirates along with the likes of Matteo Guendouzi, Stephan Lichtsteiner, Bernd Leno, and Sokratis Papastathopoulos.
Galatasaray’s need
On the other hand, Galatasaray had a difficult season in the last campaign of the Turkish top flight, as they finished 13th in the league with many losses as well as victories. The Turkish giants under the new manager Okan Buruk are looking forward to strengthen their squad this summer by signing in footballers like French International Leo Dubois, ex-Porto midfielder Sergio Oliveira, as well as getting Haris Seferovic from Benfica on loan.
On the other hand, the club has also linked with Glen Kamara, who is a good midfielder from the Rangers having a deal worth of 7 million pounds. And at present, the Super Lig club is looking forward to bringing Lucas Torreira, and it seems that they would be pretty successful to close the deal.
