The newly introduced Lucknow Supergiants once again pick up a win, this time against the Delhi Capitals, by defeating them by 6 wickets, with 2 balls left. It was an absolute thriller, especially in the last over, which came to an end with a laugh in the face of LSG players. DC batted first and put up 149 with the loss of 3 wickets in 20 overs, while the LSG chased down the target in 19.4 overs, with the loss of 4 wickets. Here are 3 facts about the match that helped the Supergiants to achieve the victory.

Brilliant knock by Quinton de Kock

Though no other players were able to score much for the Lucknow Supergiants, it was Quinton de Kock who smashed 52 balls 80 with 9 fours and 2 sixes. De Kock has been in a good form in this IPL, registering his second half-century of the season. He was also awarded the man of the match for paving the path for his team towards victory.

    Tight bowling by LSG bowlers

Though the Supergiants’ bowlers were not able to take many wickets, most of them were very economical. Delhi Capitals in their overall innings lost only three wickets but they weren’t able to score many runs, being limited to 149. The best economy from Lucknow had their star leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi, which is 5.50, conceding 22 runs in 4 overs, and also picking up 2 wickets.

Youngster Badoni wins the last over thriller

Though LSG were had control over the match, especially in the last over when they needed only 5 runs, the DY Patil pitch didn’t look like a place where you will see showering fours and sixes. Shardul Thakur came to bowl the final over and picked up the wicket of in-form Deepak Hooda, who got caught in the hands of Axar Patel.

Youngster Ayush Badoni came to bat, and Thakur with his brilliance scored a dot. But Badoni who has impressed everyone multiple times did the same in this match too. In the next two balls, he scored a four and a six to take LSG home being victorious.
