The Lucknow Supergiants completely demolished Kolkata Knight Riders by defeating them by a huge margin of 75 runs, and now LSG is the table-toppers surpassing everybody, even Gujarat Titans in terms of run rate. They simply destroyed their opposition in both the terms of batting and bowling and even proved their worth of being the table-toppers. In the match, LSG batted first and put up 176 for the loss of 7 wickets on the scoreboard. They got KKR all out in only 14.3 overs at the score of 101. Here are 3 factors to consider which led the Super Giants to secure the win.
Quinton de Kock’s 50
Quinton de Kock’s 50 of only 29 balls gave the first positive vibe to Lucknow Supergiants. Though KL Rahul got a diamond duck in the first over by getting run out with a miscommunication with De Kock, the South African hard hitter recovered the damages done. He hit 4 fours and 3 sixes in his innings, which paved the path toward LSG setting up a good total.
LSG’s middle order getting runs
Another great thing about a team is a team effort. Not only did De Kock do his job, but the middle order of LSG did their job well. Deepak Hooda and Krunal Pandya also scored runs. While Marcus Stoinis and Jason Holder played small but destroying innings which gradually demolished the mindset of KKR. 176 runs aren’t the smallest deal to chase down in today’s T20 cricket, but the way LSG batted in the last few overs, KKR’s players’ mindset got slayed, eventually, they got defeated by 75 runs.
Impressive bowling by the Supergiants
Not only did they hit hard the ball, but they also bowled well, which limited KKR to 101 only. The best thing for LSG is that all their 5 bowlers got wickets, including Jason Holder and Avesh Khan picking up 3 each, and Mohsin Khan, Chameera, and Bishnoi got 1 each.
