Lucknow SuperGiants launched their second win of IPL 15, after defeating the opposition Sunrisers Hyderabad by 12 runs. There was a great display from the batsmen after loading early wickets and the bowlers were brilliant to restrict the team to 157 runs. While batting first, LSG lost quick wickets and stood at 30/3 at one stage. SRH was quick to put the batting side in a tough situation however it was from there that the LSG skipper KL Rahul and Hooda carried on the inning. They built a strong partnership with both the batsmen hitting half-centuries. Though the team didn’t reach a massively high score, they were able to put up a decent total on the board of 169. The in-between character of both the batsmen had a long impact on the SRH side.
Avesh Khan: The man of the match for today’s game, the rising talent Avesh Khan provided his team with quick breakthroughs. He dismissed the openers Abhishek Sharma and Kane Williamson that had a great influence on disbalancing SRH’s momentum. He picked a total of four wickets conceding just 24 runs in his four overs.
Krunal Pandya: Slightly an underrated factor, but Krunal Pandya with the ball had major contributions in today’s match. Krunal picked the wicket of Aiden Markram and was successful in dismissing the set batsman Rahul Tripathi who appeared to be in great flow, batting at 44 at just 30 deliveries. His spell had a great significance in disturbing the middle order and not letting Hyderabad get back on track.
