The sequel to Lords of the Fallen, suitably titled Lords of the Fallen 2, will be launched next year, according to CI Games’ latest Consolidated Management Report. Another fascinating detail is that the business has also stated that Unreal Engine 5, the recently released Epic Games graphical engine, will be the primary engine for their upcoming Key IPs.

Let’s take a look at Lords of the Fallen 2 first. The corporation indicated its next line of action when discussing the success of the “Four Pillar Strategy” that CI Games began implementing in 2021.

Lords of the Fallen: The sequel to this franchise has been developed by our internal studio Hexworks since 2019. Our studio of 60+ internal development team members has worked closely with other third-party developers across various disciplines in the development of the game […]

We plan to start the global marketing campaign for the game during the third Quarter of 2022. Lords of the Fallen 2 is planned to be released in 2023 as a full-price game for the new generation of consoles and PC.

Lords of the Fallen 2 will be CI Games’ largest-ever project, and it will strive to capitalise on the genre’s continued global success. By 2023, the game should be available on next-generation consoles and PC. This could rule out last-gen consoles (PS4 and Xbox One) from consideration for this submission.

CI Games also mentioned Unreal Engine 5 in passing throughout the report. According to it, CI Games will use Unreal Engine 5 as the primary engine for all of the important IPs presently in production, including the next Sniper Ghost Warrior game (produced by Underdog Studio, like Contracts 1 & 2) and the brand new Project Survive (developed by the Czech team at Batfields Studio).

The engine will allow for better coordination between its teams, in addition to the cutting-edge technology used in the upcoming Witcher and Tomb Raider games.
