PlayStation has revealed the free games that PlayStation Plus members can pick up in January 2025, and there are three new titles available between January 7 and February 3. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, released in 2024, struggled to gain an audience despite being a live-service game. Set on the streets of Metropolis, the action game for teams places players in control of supervillains as they must defeat the Justice League. The game was initially met with mixed reactions, but the developers kept updating the game by giving us new characters and content. The last season of updates launched in December, featuring new gameplay elements and characters.
It hasn’t exactly been received with open arms, but it does still appeal to people wanting to team up and smash their way through the DC universe. Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit is one of the better entries in the racing franchise, and its remaster comes with multiple visual upgrades. A remaster released back in 2020, this fan-favorite racing game broke new ground by combining highly responsive controls and a completely insane powerup system in an adrenaline-fueled experience that is brought to life with great graphics and fast-paced gameplay.
The novelty of racing as either a cop or a criminal hasn’t worn out, and the car chases are thrilling, while vehicle destruction is wonderfully satisfying, so much so that Hot Pursuit remains a fan favorite. Finally, The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe is a sort of expanded remaster of the original game, and it’s a weird one. This version builds a lot of new content on top of it while keeping the weirdness that helped make the original so intoxicating.
The Stanley Parable is a game best experienced with as little prior knowledge as possible, so ideally you’ll just jump in and get sucked into its bizarre narrative.
