East Bengal is said to be on the mend. According to reports, the Emami group will deliver contract terms for the forthcoming tie-up between the club and the organisation on Saturday. Problems had previously arisen, and as a result, the contract between the two parties had not been signed. After receiving the contract, club authorities will scrutinize it before signing it.
ISL 2022-23: East Bengal is all set to sign a contract with Emami Group
Due to the failure of the investor arrangement, the club’s scouts and recruiters have been in contact with a number of players but have yet to offer them contracts. Now that a contract has been agreed upon, the Red and Gold will be eager to begin assembling their roster for the Indian Super League’s 2022-23 season.
The Emami group, according to sources, will deliver the contract to the Kolkata club on Saturday. Following that, club authorities would properly inspect it. Only the football rights will be given off to Emami, according to reports. The club authorities would be in charge of the rest of the sports.
East Bengal made its ISL debut two seasons ago. With Quess out of the picture, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee stepped in to help the club find new backers in the shape of Sree Cement. However, the partnership with the new investors was short-lived, lasting only two years. Sree Cements officially discontinued their relationship with the Kolkata club at the end of the previous season.
East Bengal was also associated with Manchester United of the English Premier League. Sourav Ganguly, the current president of the BCCI and the former captain of the Indian team, indicated that discussions with Manchester United were underway. East Bengal’s discussions with Bangladesh’s Bashundhara group have progressed, but it now appears that Emami is the greatest option for the club.
