    Cricket rights in India have always had a very tough competition. IPL’s Broadcast and LIVE Streaming rights have had high competition between Disney Star and Sony Sports Network. However, there are high chances that the destiny changes this time on 12th June.

    It is suspected that the IPL Media rights will bring Amazon and Viacom 18 as the key players in the fight for rights. Amazon is owned by Jeff Bezos whereas Viacom 18 is owned by Mukesh Ambani.

    It’s the first time that the rights to broadcast matches on television and digital platforms will be sold separately. Ambani’s Reliance Industries Ltd. is all set to give a tough fight to Jeff Bezos’s Amazon. The world will witness the two companies fight for e-commerce supremacy in acquiring the media rights tender for IPL.

    This competition will be online over two days which means the audience can view minute-by-minute buds and counterbids in real-time.

    Who are the potential bidders?

    Apart from Amazon and Reliance, a lot of competitors will be present there including Walt Disney co-owned Star India and its Disney Hotstar streaming service.

    IPL Rights Base Price

    • Bundle A – Indian Sub Continent Broadcast: The base price in this category is Rs 49 crore per game. O
    • Bundle B – Digital rights Indian Sub-Continent: The base price for this package is Rs 33 crore per game.
    • Bundle CNon Exclusive Package: The much-debated special package is in Bundle C which comprises 18 games and the reserve price in this cluster is Rs 16 crore per game.
    • Bundle D: Rest of the World Rights (Outside Sub-Continent): The base price for this package is Rs 3 crore per game.
