Just after the 4 days of IPL Mega Auction, Simon Katich has left Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) as a coach. Katich has told the sources that he will “move on” in protest and complete disagreement with the way SRH went about selecting the squad at IPL Auction.
The Franchise have announced Simon Helmot as their new assistant coach. Simon Katich had decided to quit the SRH franchise on complete protest and disagreement.
Why did he quit the team?
The report says that Katich completely disagreed with the way the team was being managed. Katich was especially very unhappy with the way the “pre-auction plans were disregarded on the run”.
Katich who was the Director of Coach Tom Moody, batting legend Brian Lara and others were just the mute spectators at the auction. Most of the calls were taken by the team CEO and daughter of the promoter Kavya Maran.
Katich is known for his integrity and straightforwardness. After the auction, Katich protested the decisions off of the CEO & others on the selection of the team.
Katich has good experience as an IPL coach and has experience in the head coaching position with Royal Challengers Bangalore.
