One of the biggest cricket leagues in the world, the Indian Premier League is all set to organize its mega auction of the 15th edition of the tournament in February 2022. Reports state that the event will be regulated in Bangalore of the second month of the year in 12 and 13 respectively. Though the BCCI is yet to issue the official dates, however, the franchise owners have affirmed the fact that the mega auction will take place on the concerned date.
It is also disclosed that India will be playing their ODI series against West Indies and has a match on February 12 at Eden Gardens Kolkata. On the other hand, the auction will go on. A clash happened regarding this, however, A BCCI official states that the match will have no bearings with the auction held.
Big names in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction
Some of the big names who were retained before the IPL 2022 Mega Auction, are Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Glenn Maxwell, Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, etc. Also, many big names will appear in the 2022 auction, which is expected to secure a good price. This includes – KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya, Ishan Kishan, Shardul Thakur, Yuzvendra Chahal, Harshal Patel, David Warner, Trent Boult, Jonny Bairstow, etc.

The remaining values of the IPL franchises after their respective retentions are –
- Punjab Kings with INR 72 crores
- Sunrisers Hyderabad with INR 68 crores
- Rajasthan Royals with 62 crores
- Royal Challengers Bangalore with INR 57 crores
- Kolkata Knight Riders with INR 48 crores
- Chennai Super Kings with INR 48 crores
- Mumbai Indians with INR 48 crores
- Delhi Capitals with INR 47.5 crores
The values of the Lucknow and Ahmedabad franchise is yet to be disclosed.
