The IPL’s governing body has decided to make it compulsory to wear masks in the dugout during DC vs PBKS match. The match between Delhi Capital (DC) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) saw the strict implementation of the rule as players, support staff were seen wearing masks. The IPL teams have finally taken note of the rising cases in the country.
In the 2021-22 season of the Big Bash League (BBL), there was an emergence of a strict rule of wearing a mask due to the outbreak in the team camps. At the same time, the Covid-19 cases in India are also rising for which masks are now compulsory for the team camps.
Outbreak in Delhi Camp
Delhi Capitals (DC) were the first team that was a victim of this deadly virus as Tim Seifert got affected. The coach of the team, Patrick Farhart was the first person who tested positive for Covid-19 as well as Mitchell Marsh who was affected by it. Tim Seifert’s latest addition had made DC take precautions for the rest of the season.
Are the matches going to be rescheduled?
The match between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings could have been rescheduled if the number of cases had increased. The victims of Covid-19 have been put into a quarantine zone since the venue was shifted at the very last moment to avoid more cases of Covid-19.
