    IPL 2022: David Warner will be missing 5-6 matches of IPL, he will be attending Shane Warne’s funeral

    Delhi Capitals opener David Warner will be not attending the first few IPL matches this year. Warner is playing against Pakistan in test series. David Warner has decided to attend the funeral of his idol Shane Warne that will happen on 30th March in Melbourne.

    Warner stated that IPL or no IPL, “I will be there, 100 percent.” for the funeral.

    Warner will be heading home after his third Test in Lahore. The 3rd test will end on 25th March. Warner stated that he grew up idolizing Shane Warne and it’s necessary for him to attend his idol’s last rites.

    “As a kid, I had his poster up on the wall. I wanted to be like Shane. It’s definitely going to be extremely emotional for everyone. There will be lots of people paying their respects,” he said.

    The state funeral for Shane Warne will take place for March 30th and IPL will start on March 26th.

    • Warner will be attending the funeral on 30th March in Melbourne.
    • He will be staying in Melbourne till 5th April as per Cricket Australia directive will not allow cricketers out of the country.
    • He will most probably land in Mumbai on 6th April.
    • As BCCI’s Covid norms, Warner will be quaranting for 5 days after he will be attending the public event.
    • If he tests negative twice, he will be allowed Bio-Secure Bubble of the team.

    The Australian cricket legend’s body has arrived in Australia weeks after his untimely death in Thailand. Warne also suffered a cardiac arrest on the vacation. Warne will will now be attending the state funeral at the iconic MSG, where he picked his 700 wicket in Tests. Shane Warne’s death has shaken the Australian team who are on a tour in Pakistan. “When we first found out, we thought it was a joke. You just look at the tributes from around the world — he has touched millions and millions of people, and from different countries.”– said David Warner.
