David Warner needed to pull off just 1000 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders. DC was chasing 147 and Warner had a great opening for his franchise. He mustered a boundary in the first delivery itself. He kept on hitting boundaries at regular intervals until he scored 1000+ runs in the sixth over of the innings. He became the second player after Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma to score 1000 runs against KKR.
Warner got out in the 10th over, scoring 42 off 26 deliveries. He mustered a total of 261 runs in six matches with three fifties in this edition of IPL.
