After the discussion, we know that phase 2 will be in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In that meeting, BCCI hasn’t announced the exact date of the remaining matches, but it has been learned that the final will be played on 10th October.
Why hasn’t BCCI announced the date and schedule of the IPL 2021?
The BCCI hasn’t announced the date because of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). The CPL is scheduled from 28th August to September 19th. The board wants to advance the CPL by 7 to 10 days. BCCI said that they would tell the dates within the next 10 days.
“We will speak to all the boards about the availability of their players. We will also speak to Cricket West Indies, we always had a great relationship with everyone and we are confident some solution will come out in the next few days”, said one of the top BCCI officials.
Foreign players availability a big headache for BCCI
BCCI is not sure about the foreign players. England has said no cricketers will be available for IPL 2021. Players from New Zealand, Afganistan, Bangladesh and West Indies are not sure of their availability.
The upcoming international fixtures are:
- Australia’s tour of Bangladesh.
- New Zealand is set for Bangladesh and Pakistan (or the UAE)
- England has agreed to visit Bangladesh and Pakistan (or the UAE)
- Pakistan and Afghanistan have scheduled a bilateral series around or during the time of the IPL.
- West Indies players will play CPL.
IPL 2021 phase 2 will be broadcasted live on the Star Sports Network like the previous matches of IPL 2021. It will also be broadcasted in multiple languages. The live streaming of the matches will be available on Hotstar. The matches in IPL 2021 phase 2 will begin at around 3:30 PM or 7:30 PM IST.
