According to the latest data collected from International Data Corporation (IDC), the Indian server market has grown by 6.4% year-over-year in terms of revenue and has reached $289.5 million in Q2 2021.
Out of the overall market, the x86 server market contributed to 90.4% of the revenue, and it went up by 4.8% points than the same quarter last year. The company to lead the x86 server market in India was Dell Technologies which had a revenue share of 25.2% and revenue of $65.8 million. Next up came Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) which managed a revenue share of 23.8% and revenue of $62.2 million.
A third position was Lenovo which registered a revenue share of 8.5% and absolute revenue of $22.2 million and finally at fourth came Cisco which bagged the fourth position in the market, and absolute revenue of $19.6 million.
“The highest contribution in the x86 market mainly came from professional services, telecommunications, discrete manufacturing, and banking verticals.”
The x86 server market increased year-over-year by 12.3% in terms of revenue to reach $261.6 million in Q2 2021. however, at the same time, the non-x86 server market reported a decline in the country every year by 28.8% to reach $27.9 million in terms of revenue in Q2 2021.
The non-x86 server market was led by IBM with a 41.1% revenue share, during Q2 2021 with an absolute revenue of $11.5 million. At the second position Oracle stood tall with a revenue share of 18.4% and at the third position came Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), with a revenue share of 4.5%.
