    Rishabh pant is successful in breaking Kapil Dev’s 40-year-old record. Indian batter Rishabh Pant became the star of the match after he made a big record scoring the fastest fifty by an Indian in Test cricket breaking Kapil Dev’s record. Rishabh Pant took just 28 balls to achieve the record. Pant’s innings helped India win the series against Sri Lanka in the Day-Night Test in Bangalore.

    Kapil Dev made this record against Pakistan in Karachi in the year 1982. After 40 long years, Rishabh Pant scored 50 runs in just 28 balls. However, he was dismissed soon on 50 off 31 balls.

    Pant also became the first player to score 30+ runs at a 150+ strike rate in each innings of the test match.

    Pant has been criticized for his work as a wicketkeeper and irrational batting approach. He admitted making “mistakes” in the past but stressed maintaining steady growth as a player.

    “I think both (batting and keeping), you need to keep evolving, I’ve made mistakes in the past and want to keep improving. It’s not in my mindset, the wicket was difficult to play, so I thought I will look for quick runs,” said Pant.
