India landed their first win in the T-20 World Cup 2021 after smashing a magnificent win against Afghanistan by 66 runs. They were superb with both the bat and ball, then eventually helped them earn the first victory in this tournament. After losing consecutive games against Pakistan and New Zealand, India was in deep trouble. Fans broke down after the two games as posts started to fill social media. Hence, the win will surely be a heave of relief for the players and fans since they still have a chance to be in the knockouts.

After being sent to bowl first, India put up a gigantic total of 210 just at the loss of 2 wickets, on the board. The openers who seemed to have got back their full momentum were fantastic with the bat. Rohit Sharma smashed a superb 74 of just 47 balls while KL Rahul got 69 amazing runs of just 48. After the openers, Rishab Pant and Hardik Pandya simply stole the game from the openers. Pant shattered the Afghan bowling with 27 off just 13 while Pandya was phenomenal with 35 off 13.
Afghan batters didn’t have a great start with the bat and stumbled upon the Indian bowling attack. Karim Jannat tried helping his team for a fightback, scoring a massive 42 runs of just 22 balls, However, it wasn’t enough to chase down the mammoth total as they concluded their inning at 144 for the loss of 7 wickets.

A lot of speculation was coming up after India saw two bad defeats in their previous two games. However, after things have worked well in this match, fans would be expecting something more in the upcoming matches. India will be playing Scotland in their next encounter, this Saturday.
