New Zealand, after winning its series with England, topped the ICC test rankings. The Blackcaps has discrowned team India from the number one spot after this win.
New Zealand ranked first with 123 points and India ranked second with 121 points. While Australia ranked third, followed by England and Pakistan.
New Zealand beats England in the second test by 8 wickets, claims series 1-0. England was defeated by New Zealand in the second test to win the two-match test series by 1-0. After 21 years, it is their first series win. So, therefore we can say that the first two top teams will be playing the final of the World Test Championship against each other.
World Test Championship
The win of New Zealand against England has lifted up the confidence in them to fight against India. As they will be facing each other for the final of the World Test Championship on 18th June 2021. The New Zealand’s bowlers are back in form as Boult picked up five wickets. Tim Southee bowled exceptionally well in the first game of the series while Taylor the expertise batsman is also in form. Debutant Conway has also shown his level of the game with a double ton in the first game.
