    ICC T20I Men’s Ranking: Mohammad Rizwan takes first place, Suryakumar Yadav goes down to the fourth spot

    The ICC T20 rankings got updated recently and the competition for getting the first spot is increasing day by day. As per the latest rankings released on Wednesday, Mohammad Rizwan replaced Babar Azam from the first spot. Indian cricketer Suryakumar Yadav slipped to the fourth position as the third position was snatched by South African cricketer Aiden Markram.

    The race to be the best got more competitive during the Asia Cup as India’s Suryakumar Yadav was in the first position. However, his performance didn’t go as expected and he got down to the fourth position. Before the tournament began, it was a competition between Babar Azam and Suryakumar Yadav however, the tables turned completely after the league.

    How did Rizwan get to the top of the ICC T20 rankings?

    Mohammad Rizwan reached the top with his wonderful performance. He had mustered 192 runs altogether in the three matches in Asia Cup 2022. He played three games in the tournament and his lowest score has been 43. He amassed 71 and 78 against India and Hong Kong respectively in the last two games. It helped him get to the number 1 spot.

    At the moment he has 815 points in ICC rankings. Babar has 794, Markaram has 792 and Suryakumar Yadav has 775 runs in his pocket.

    Things didn’t go well with Babar Azam as he couldn’t score a lot of runs for Pakistan. His scores were 14, 9, and 10 in the Asia Cup. Suryakumar Yadav had a better performance that the Pakistani skipper with 68, 13 and 34 but Rizwan left both the players behind in the latest ICC rankings.

    As far as the Indian batters are concerned, Yadav is at the best position. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma in at no. 14 and Virat Kohli has slipped to 29th position after his zero against Sri Lanka in the last match that India played against Sri Lanka.
