Gujarat Titans secured the win over Chennai Super Kings in a low-scoring match, where GT picked up the win with ease against the 4-time IPL champion. CSK batted first and put up 133 with the loss of 5 wickets, and GT coming to bat in the second innings chased it down in 19.1 overs. Though wickets didn’t fall much for the Super Kings, still they weren’t able to score more runs. Here are 3 factors to consider which led Gujarat to secure the win.

    GT bowlers being economical

GT bowlers were very economical in their match against CSK. The highest economy by a Titans bowler in the match was by Yash Dayal, which was 9, and the lowest was 4 by Hardik Pandya. The bowlers being economical is one of the prime reasons why CSK wasn’t able to score more runs without even losing many wickets.

    Wriddhiman Saha’s innings

The target wasn’t big for Gujarat Titans, hence their opener Wriddhiman Saha played sensibly and built his inning to take GT past the victory line gradually. Saha played a brilliant knock of 67 of 57 balls, with 8 fours and 1 six, with a normal strike rate of 117.54, and took his team home with a victory’s smile.

CSK bowlers not being able to pick up wickets

GT didn’t lose many wickets and secure the win with ease, and one of the prime reasons for that is that CSK bowlers failed to pick up more wickets. Only Matheesha Pathirana picked up 2 wickets, and Moeen Ali dismissed 1. Six bowlers bowled in the match for CSK, but except for these two, no one was able to take wickets, or successfully break partnerships. With this victory of Gujarat Titans, they became the first team of this season to pick up 20 points.
