The Ministry of Electronics and IT of the Government of India has issued a banning order on applications because these apps were transferring sensitive data of Indians to servers in foreign countries via countries like Singapore and Hong Kong and have also directed top app stores to block these apps, including Google’s Play Store.
A ban on 54 mobile applications, including the famous battle royale game Garena Free Fire, has been requested by the Ministry of Home Affairs. Free Fire was one of the most popular games in India last year, but it has since been deleted from both the Google Play Store and the App Store.

- Rise of Kingdoms: Lost Crusade
Since June 2020, the Indian government has banned a total of 224 apps, including famous apps like TikTok, Shareit, WeChat, Helo, Likee, UC News, Bigo Live, UC Browser, ES File Explorer, and Mi Community, which were among the first to be prohibited.
This isn’t the government’s first attempt to prohibit content because it is “prejudicial” to India’s sovereignty, integrity, and national security. The Information and Broadcasting Ministry notified the Rajya Sabha earlier this week that it had shut 60 Pakistan-backed YouTube Channels that were spreading false information about the government.
