Google came with a surprise last month when they announced the Pixel 9 series sooner than their usual release year time, where it typically launches flagship phones in October. Although the release schedule had been moved up, new models still featured a re-designed body and better internal hardware. However, they still came equipped with last year’s Android 14, which was disappointing since new devices are often expected to launch with the latest software, showcasing new features. The upcoming Pixel 11 is rumored to feature an improved Night Sight mode that enables on-device processing.

Leaks About the Google Pixel 11

Google will probably unveil the Pixel 10 series in August of next year, but long before that happens we’re starting to hear about its successor, which would be called the Pixel 11.  As the Pixel 10 will bring a lot of new hardware and software components, with respect to its features and internal specs improvement concerned we expect more significant changes in both elements for the Google Pixel 11. Based on what Kamila Wojiechowska at Android Authority has heard, the Pixel 11 will offer some type of “Ultra Low Light Video” tied to Night Sight basically a video version of an existing photo mode.

Night Sight is designed to help users capture improved photos and videos in low-light conditions. Until now, this had been restricted to images but from the looks of things Google might be getting ready to enable them with videos as well. Additionally, the version comes with a new Night Sight Video mode that should be able to process videos on the device rather than using Google’s video-boosting cloud feature. This shift to on-device processing is significant, as video editing typically requires considerable computational power.

To support this initiative, Google is reportedly turning to TSMC’s 2nm chip technology for the Tensor G6 chip in the Pixel 11 lineup, providing enhanced computational and graphical performance. While details remain limited, Google’s partnership with TSMC is crucial for enabling these advanced features to function locally, allowing users to access them without needing an internet connection or waiting for server processing.
