Fortnite fans will soon be able to be the Battle Bus after years of riding it and praising its driver, thanks to the game’s continuous crossover with Transformers. The Fortnite Battle Bus bot, along with actual Transformers Bumblebee and Megatron, will be added to Epic’s battle royale game in October.
The Fortnite Battle Bus isn’t an official Transformer — it doesn’t have an Autobot or a Decepticon insignia — but some of the best Transformers on the market aren’t either. Given that it’s a blue school bus, the robot-in-disguise looks fairly awesome, and it keeps some of the Battle Bus aesthetic hallmarks in two-legged form.
In addition to the Fortnite Battle Bus gear, there are two extra cosmetics: a back bling inspired by the hot air balloon that keeps the bus floating and the “Pick Axle” pickaxe.
Players in Fortnite’s Chapter 3 Season 2 had the opportunity to drive the Battle Bus on land. However, the ability to fully embody the Battle Bus (and hit the Griddy as an off-brand Transformer that resembles the Battle Bus) elevates Fortnite to an entirely new meta-level.
The Fortnite Battle Bus cosmetics will be included in the Fortnite Transformers Pack, which will be available in-game on October 13 and digitally on October 21. Three outfits (BattleBus, Bumblebee, and Megatron), back bling and emotes for each character, two new emotes, and 1,000 V-Bucks are included in the set. It is $24.99.
