Final Fantasy XVI appears to be one of the greatest exclusives on the PlayStation 5 in 2023. The RPG will not be released until June, but Square Enix has announced that more details would be divulged in the months preceding its release.
In a new Tweet showing previously revealed imagery of the main characters, the game’s Japanese Twitter account guaranteed just that. The game’s release date may appear to be a long way off, but maybe Square Enix will find methods to keep players interested in the months leading up to it.
There’s still a lot we don’t know about Final Fantasy XVI, but some information regarding the game has been released this year.
Director Hiroshi Takai announced last month that the game’s campaign will take 35-40 hours to finish. Takai was quick to point out that if players take their time finishing the game’s bonus content, the total should rise to over 70 hours.
In addition, the game is the first in the main series to get an M for Mature classification from the ESRB, based on language and material. It’s rather disturbing to see, and it should give fans an idea of what to anticipate when the game is released next year.
While it will be many months before Final Fantasy XVI is released, Final Fantasy fans will have other things to look forward to in 2023. Square Enix has announced that the long-awaited Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters will be available for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
Fans have been urging Square Enix to release those titles on consoles, and Square Enix is finally doing so. The remasters have no release date beyond “2023,” but perhaps they’ll arrive before Final Fantasy XVI to keep fans waiting.
