The Expendables 4 is an upcoming American ensemble action-thriller franchise, spanning a film series, written by Sylvester Stallone and based on characters created by David Callaham and additional media. The film series consists of three films, the first one was released in 2010, The Expendable 2 was released in 2012, the third one was named The Expendable 3 and was released in 2014.
The series has received mixed critical reception, in regard to its plots and dialogue between the characters; however, many critics praised the use of humour and action scenes. The films have been box office successes.
The power-packed action film named Expendables is all set to return for its fourth film with blockbuster stars Sylvester Stallone and Jason Statham to headline once again.
The film’s franchise has detailed various missions that were carried out by a group of mercenaries and pays homage to the blockbuster action films of the 1980s and 1990s.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dolph Lundgren and Randy Couture, who has appeared in the first three films along with Stallone and Statham, will also return for the new movie. It was also reported that 50 Cent, Megan Fox and Tony Jaa will join the cast.
The list of classic action movie stars that have been featured in this film series also includes Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Chuck Norris, Mel Gibson, and Harrison Ford.
To direct this star-studded cast will be Scott Waugh, whose credentials include Need for Speed (2014) and 6 Below: Miracle on the Mountain (2017).
